The 9th June this year is the Feast of St Columba, principal patron of the Diocese of Dunkeld, and marks the 1500th Anniversary of the birth of the Saint.
Bishop Stephen Robson announced, “As it is an important feast for us, I hereby note that there will be a Mass of thanksgiving for the Feast of St Columba at 11am on Sunday, 13th June, 2021 in our Cathedral in Dundee. Obviously, it will not be possible for you all, to be present at this Mass, but I would like to encourage you to make something extra of the Feast Day on 9th June by raising the event this year to a Solemnity for all the churches of the Diocese.”
“In order to emphasise the importance of this year, Fr Ross Crichton of the Diocese of Argyll and the Isles, has composed a special Litany of St. Columba which can be used during this Mass.”
