Following the deaths of Mgr Charles Hendry and Mgr John Harty last year – and replacing two other long serving priests, Canon Neil Drysdale and Mgr Basil O’Sullivan, the following priests of Dunkeld Diocese were installed as Canons of the Chapter of St Andrew’s Cathedral on Tuesday, 30th November, 2021: Fr Mark Cassidy, Fr Brian McLean, Fr Tom Shields and Fr Kevin Golden. Together with Mgr Ken McCaffrey, Mgr Pat McInally, Mgr Neil Gallagher and Mgr Aldo Angelosanto this now restores the number of Canon’s to its full compliment of eight –
Mass for the Installation of the new Canons took place in St Andrew’s Cathedral on Tuesday, 30th November, 2021 (St Andrew’s Day), at 1pm, followed by lunch for the new Canons.
Bishop Stephen offered his congratulations to the new Canons, “May I congratulate our new Canons who bring the compliment of the Chapter back up to eight and also the people of the parishes who will be delighted to see their parish priest’s promotion in this way. Many congratulations to you all!”
