The annual mass of Christ the King was celebrated in St Andrew’s Cathedral Dundee, where guests from civic and academic life were present This tradition was inaugurated by the late Bishop Scanlan who invited the Catholic sodalities and the Lord Provost of the day; and it has developed since. This year, local MPs, MSP, local councillors, academic principals and staff were joined by representative of the executives of the various local authorities within the diocese and student organisations.
Monsignor Canon Aldo presided at the Mass, and the diocesan choir who led the music, conducted by Canon Kevin Golden, including the anthem ‘O how amiable are thy dwellings’ by Ralph Vaughan Williams and the Kyrie and Agnus Dei from Missa Princeps Pacis by William Lloyd Webber.
