Fr James Foley died today, Thursday 9th June, 2016. He was born in Co. Tipperary and before coming to the Diocese of Dunkeld, was a member of the Society for African Missions (SMA Fathers). After his ordination in 1964, he served in the missions in Nigeria. In 1976 he was appointed Parish Priest of St Joseph’s Callander and four years later was incardinated into the diocese. He also served as PP in St. Mungo’s, Alloa; St Fillan’s, Newport-on-Tay and finally in St Anne’s, Carnoustie. He retired in 2005, and was latterly residing in Wellburn Home.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
