Seven years ago, Fr Gregory Umunna took up his new post as the parish priest at St Stephen’s, Blairgowrie. Soon the girls and boys who started school in the parish primary school at that time will move on to their secondary school studies at St John’s Academy or Blairgowrie High School.
Addressing the children with a video message, Fr Gregory told them. “Let the skies be your limit and may God bless you, this day and always.”
He asked them to give thanks for the support of their headteacher, Mr McKell, all their dedicated teachers and their parents and for the seven years they have journeyed together. “Seven years of hard studies, assignments, homework, morning prayers, assemblies, morning Mass and prayers. Seven years of all of this moulding you into who you have become today.”
“May Christ lead you as you go on your journey.”
Fr Gregory ends inviting the children to come back to the school and parish communities which is so proud of them – to come back and join in the Church’s celebrations.
