Two new vicars general have been appointed, vicars episcopal named to conduct pastoral work, and orders and foreign priests come into the diocese
Bishop Stephen Robson (above) has appointed two new vicars general in Dunkeld Diocese as part of clergy changes that bring a number of new vicars episcopal, orders and foreign priests into the diocese.
Canon Aldo Angelosanto, chaplain to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, and Canon Martin Drysdale, parish priest of St Fillan’s Crieff, become vicars general, taking over from Mgr Ken McCaffrey.
Mgr McCaffrey will now head up education in Dunkeld as one of a number of vicars episcopal with responsibility for pastoral work in the diocese.
Among the new appointments are Fr Tom Shields, parish priest of St John’s in Perth, who will become vicar episcopal for the Faith formation of young people, and Fr Steven Mulholland, parish priest of St Mary, Our Lady of Victories in Dundee, as vicar episcopal for ecumenism and inter-religious relationships.
Two priests from The Society of the Divine Saviour, Fr Kazimierz Kubat and Fr Bogdan Palka, will join St John’s, Perth, as assistant priests and will minister to the town’s extensive Polish community.
Fr Samuel Alabi—formerly based in Nigeria—of the Missionaries of Saint Paul, newly arrived in the diocese, will become assistant priest in the parishes of Newport, Tayport, Cupar and Auchtermuchty.

8. Fr James High as Vicar Episcopal for the Laity and Lay Church Organisations.
9. Fr Michael Freyne as director for Mission Awareness.
10. Fr Colin Golden as director for Priestly Vocations.
11. Deacon Charles Hendry as director for vocations to the permanent diaconate.
Parochial Appointments
1. Fr Kevin Golden to St Andrew’s Cathedral, Dundee, as Cathedral Administrator and University Chaplain to Dundee and Abertay Universities.
2. Fr Ian Wilson, and one other priest, to St Thomas’, Arbroath, St Bride’s, Monifieth and St Anne’s, Carnoustie as priests in residence to work collaboratively in these three parishes. Fr Kevin Golden to remain parish priest in the interim.
3. Fr Kazimierz Kubat and Fr Bogdan Palka, Salvatorian priests, to St John’s Perth as assistant priests. They will minister also to the extensive Polish Community in Perth.
4. Fr Samuel Alabi of the Missionaries of Saint Paul, newly arrived in the Diocese to be assistant priest in the parishes of Newport, Tayport, Cupar and Auchtermuchty.
5. Fr Tom Shields, parish priest of St John’s Perth, and Vicar Episcopal for the Faith Formation of Youth, to be also Priest Chaplain responsible for Kilgraston School, Bridge of Earn.
6. Fr Leszek Wiecaczek to continue to care for the pastoral needs of the Polish community in Dundee, Angus and North Fife from September 1, also remaining parish priest of St Joseph’s in Dundee.
7. Deacon Leonard Moir, to the Parish of St John’s, Perth, as parish deacon.
