The Bishops’ Conference of Scotland, has announced the appointment of a new Director of the Catholic Parliamentary Office. Archbishop Philip Tartaglia, President of the Bishops’ Conference offered congratulations to Anthony Horan who will direct the work of the Catholic Parliamentary Office from 25 July 2016.
Archbishop Tartaglia said: “I congratulate Anthony on his appointment as Director of the Catholic Parliamentary Office. Together with all the bishops I look forward to working with him in future as he represents the Church in the political sphere. Anthony’s demonstrable knowledge of and commitment to his Catholic faith will be a tremendous asset to the Catholic Parliamentary Office. I wish him every success in his new post.”
Anthony Horan commented: “I am honoured to have been appointed Director of the Catholic Parliamentary Office of the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland. I look forward to engaging with Scotland’s parliamentarians and the political system, developing friendly and positive relationships in the process. I am extremely grateful to Scotland’s Catholic Bishops for giving me this opportunity to work for them and to develop the work of the Parliamentary Office.”
