George Haggarty, retired rector of St John’s High School, was presented with the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Papal Award at the Annual Mass for those involved in the field of Catholic education in the diocese, at Ss Peter and St Paul’s, Dundee. Bishop Vincent Logan thanked Mr Haggarty for his many years of service to the education community within the diocese and nationally throughout Scotland.
The Mass was attended by Mr Haggarty’s family, along with his successor Fiona McLagan and his predecessor Br Bede. Mr Haggarty thanked all for attending and reminded everyone of the great Marist tradition that he had inherited and had been conscious of passing on to all who passed through the school.
