Bishop Stephen and Fr Johney Raphael CST, parish priest at St Ninian’s Dundee, concelebrate with Provost Ken McBride to mark his retiral.
Seventeen years ago, Mgr Ken was appointed to St Ninian’s in the Menzieshill area of Dundee. He says he has loved his time there and has particularly enjoyed being Chaplain to the school. School Masses were always a highlight and he just loved the children’s singing. During that time, he celebrated his Golden Jubilee of Ordination and to mark the occasion Bishop Vincent had him appointed a Prelate of Honour to the Holy Father,
giving him the title of Monsignor.
Mgr Ken says, “I will miss being a parish priest, but I know this is the right time to step down. However, I hope to continue my ministry by supplying for my brother priests if needed.”
“I have been very blessed throughout my Priesthood, in the Bishops I have served, in my fellow priests and in the parishioners I have known. I would do it all again tomorrow. I have had a great life as God’s priest.”
