Recruitment campaign for safeguarding agency

Lady Rae has commissioned the recruitment agency Aspen People to manage a recruitment process that is open to anyone with the interest, experience and expertise that will shape the work of the new body which will be registered as a private company, limited by guarantee. Applications from people of all faith backgrounds and none will be considered.  

Launching the recruitment campaign, Lady Rae said, “I will expect Board Directors to bring their own expertise and experience to the task of developing the Agency’s policies and procedures which will build on improvements made in recent years, in the light of various external reviews of safeguarding.  I would be happy to hear from anyone who has the time, the interest and the commitment to undertake this important work, regardless of their religious background.” Lady Rae added, “I wish to appoint Board Directors who will work with me to rebuild confidence and trust in the Church’s safeguarding practice, especially among those who have experienced abuse. 

These directors will assist me to appoint a Director of Safeguarding and a Head of Training who will work with others to ensure compliance with the highest standards of safeguarding.”
