Speaking at the training day for Dunkeld’s Synod Listeners and Facilitators, Bishop Stephen reported that there had been a “rich and prayerful” response to the diocese’s online questionnaire.
“Following the inline launch at the beginning of February the questionnaire, intended to gather a snapshot of the experiences of parishioners, has been met with a very positive response.”
“Following this initial anonymous survey, we are moving to gathering reports from discussion groups in the parishes.”
So far, the largest number of responses has been seen to be coming from regular Mass attenders – with other perhaps not finding access to the questionnaires.
An opportunity has now been opened up for Friends and Families in the wider community to describe their experiences of the Catholic Church – its power for good in the world and the obstacles that make it difficult for some to engage with the church.
