On Wednesday 19th September, parishioners at St Thomas of Canterbury, Arbroath, welcomed four new members to their church community. Jack and Stuart were baptised, and after a canticle of thanksgiving, the Veni Creator Spiritus invoked the Holy Spirit for their Confirmation along with Adrienne and Ruth – using the Oil of Chrism recently consecrated by Bishop Stephen at the Mass of Chrism.
The four chose St Thomas More, St Mary Magdalene, St Elizabeth Ann Seaton and St Luigi Scroppi as their patrons.
Fr Andrew Marshall, parish priest at St Thomas’, said: “It was a joyful occasion which was followed by a drinks reception in our newly refurbished hall. The four newcomers looked uplifted and transformed.”
