Over 300 members of the Union of Catholic Mothers were welcomed to the City of Dundee and St. Andrew’s Cathedral on the afternoon of Sunday 28th April by the City’s Lord Provost, Bob Duncan and his wife Brenda. The U.C.M. gathered in the Cathedral to mark their 22nd Triennial National Rally. The speakers at the Rally were Bishop John Mone, Bishop Emeritus of Paisley, Deacon Richard Haggerty of the Apostleship of the Sea, and Mr Charlie McCluskey, Director of the Knights of St. Columba.
The Rally was followed by the celebration of Mass. Archbishop Mario Conti, Archbishop Emeritus of Glasgow, was the principal celebrant of the Mass. Bishop John Mone and Bishop Joseph Toal of Argyll and the Isles, Mgr. Basil O’Sullivan, Administrator of the Diocese of Dunkeld, along with Canon Aldo Angelosanto, Diocesan Chaplain to the UCM (Dunkeld) Canon Michael Milton, Cathedral Administrator, Mgr. Charles Hendry, Parish Priest of St Mary Magdalene’s, Perth and a number of other diocesan UCM chaplains concelebrated the Mass.
